On the 6th January 2022, the Kent MS Therapy Centre in Canterbury made an enquiry to VEL Fit about one of their four VELUX® UK08’s powered roof windows which was not working. The VEL Fit team responded quickly and inspected the window which was on a high, sloping, dome roof, which was difficult to reach. The fault was identified resulting in the windows requiring reconfiguration to the VELUX Integra. This innovative system of windows, blinds and shutters lets you open and close the window and blind with just one touch of the pre-paired wall switch or from a mobile phone app.

After rectifying the problem, a Service Level Agreement (SLA) was put in place for Kent MS Therapy Centre to ensure that the VEL Fit team will regularly service their windows for the next 3 years, maintaining them in the best condition. As part of the SLA an asset log and a condition report has been created to provide the details and specifications of their windows for ease of tracking in the future.

The first routine service visit was on the 24th February 2022 during storm Eunice. On site, we cleared debris from the flashing surrounds, replaced the air filters and flap foams, cleaned the internal frame and glass on both the inside and outside. After the service we recorded the location and condition of all windows. By doing so, both VEL Fit and the Therapy Centre can keep a record of the windows’ current condition, and have a plan in place for the best possible ways to maintain their quality.

Vicky, the administrator of the Therapy Centre, was delighted with the service from the VEL Fit team, commenting “VEL Fit conducted a very professional and helpful service in quite appalling weather”.

We will return to revisit for the second service in August and look forward to continuing to give them peace of mind for all their roof windows.
